What fine words the brethren say about sexual abuse-when they are backed into the corner and it's front page news......'sharing the communities revulsion ,promising to work with the authorites' and striving to report abuse' ..., 'victims in our thoughts and prayers'...(pardon me while I choke) ...kinda rings a bit hollow when you hear of intimidation and attempts to silence victims..the brethren have no protocols for dealing with things like this, have no professional training and no, the public 'care meetings' are NOT the appropriate venue

I'll believe the brethren when they accept responsibility, turn over any allegations to an independant ,trained professional to investigate, offer to pay for professional councelling..until then it's just a pathetic attempt at damage control to try and distance themselves from their disgraceful public image ...sorry about that...got some news for them, the 'me too' movement is bringing down some high profile public figures and it's just a matter of time before some of the EB sisters blow the lid off...allegations of stuff like this has been covered up for decades...booze, a pressure cooker atmosphere and 'closed doors' are the perfect venue....trust me, it ain't gonna be pretty

Posted online in 2016 after agreement with Charity Commission was reached regarding Preston Down Gospel Hall Trust's charitable status.
The sexual abuse of minors is a heinous act and the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church will always strive to bring any allegations of such to the attention of police and other authorities.

The Charity Commission tell us that individual Gospel Hall Trusts are responsible, not the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church. Have the Charity Commission been misled?

'Exclusives' will always withdraw their children from any form of sex education: this is seen as a
family responsibility, so that guidance can be given an appropriate moral and spiritual setting. They
see no need for detailed AIDS education, since their lifestyle puts them in the 'no risk' category.

The EB comment about sex education demonstrates crass stupidity and smug ignorance of both the way things work and humanity itself.

The Brethrens comments about sexual abuse sound more like a pathetic attempt at damage control after they make the front page news than stated protocols ....when they invite independent professionals to come in and encourage people who have been abused to come forward in complete confidentiality I will believe their fine words..until then it's just window dressing

It is 1 year ago today that we saw the terrible terrorist attacks on mankind in Manchester. Our thoughts and sympathies are constantly with those that lost loved ones, were injured and those that helped in the aftermath of the explosions Manchester Arena

Many of us lost loved ones the day we decided to no longer frequent the church these same RRT people attend. Thoughts and sympathies offered to us? Or hateful, physical and legal threats, shunning, damage to property and losses of inheritance?

The real Brethren take on this sad event would be 'It's God's judgement on you for attending a worldly pop concert'.

Added to which, the artiste Ariana Grande was raised a Roman Catholic but abandoned Catholicism during the pontificate of Benedict XVI, citing opposition to the church's stance on homosexuality.
