Post by LadyKiwi » Wed Jul 25, 2018 7:39 am

I have received an email asking me to post the following information and url. This program is on Australian TV. Tonight's episode on ABCTV at 9pm AEST is concerned with survivors of cults in Australia. http://tinyurl.com/ydd4p2k6

Many thanks for the headsup people.

One of the participants seems to be describing the Hales Exclusive Brethren.
For a number of them, the separation from their family units as they knew them was the hardest part of leaving.

"I wasn't allowed to see my parents. Once you left the religion you weren't allowed to have any contact," Sydneysider Jenni Wood says.

"I used to ring my mother ... [she'd say] 'I can't talk to you, you need to get right with the Lord', clunk. My father died, he was very sick. We went and visited him and he just turned his face to the wall. He wouldn't acknowledge me."

Wood goes on to say that she'd received a visit from two of her brothers after she'd left the cult, and they told her she'd have handicapped children if she dared to marry outside of the religion.

Thank God they can’t burn ‘heretics’* at the stake anymore..they’d do it with a smile on their face, thinking they were being ‘faithful’(best the EB can do is try and threaten people they can lose their eternal salvation....sorry,not scared...)

* ‘heretic’-anybody who dares to stand up to the them...goes along with being accused of ‘apostacy’
