Scriptures you won't hear quoted...

Post by fisherman » Mon Apr 30, 2018 8:55 pm

The brethren are well known for cherry picking the scriptures they like and ignoring the ones that knock the legs out from under them( people have been named as 'wicked persons' and withdrawn from as 'unfit for Christian fellowship' for quoting such scriptures) ....there's lots more to choose from ,but this one comes to mind...please feel free to add any more that come to mind...

'Thy money go with thee to destruction, because thou has thought that the gift of a God can be obtained by money.
Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter for thy heart is not upright before God'. ( Acts 8:20-21) JND version....hm,now let me see, how does this fit in with the UBT and the 'Commercial System'in the Assembly'?

Matthew 22:36-40
36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38 This is the first and great commandment.

39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Don't see anything there that allows for 'MOGS'.

Correct, according to Pauls ministry, leadership is ALWAYS plural, local and qualified......the EB STRIKE OUT on ALL counts.....there is NO mandate for a 'universal leader' under any name Our Beloved', 'MOG, 'Elect Vessel' or anything else OR a 'universal fellowship...Pauls ministry on governance of LOCAL churches includes elders and deacons -also qualified.EB have no designated elders...

Interestingly enough the brethren maintained 'the church is in ruins'-then proceeded to set up the 'universal fellowship 'and a 'universal leader' then claim they WERE the 'Church' ...JND said he would not fellowship with any group making that claim..FER said the assembly INCLUDED every true believer in Christ..and that there could be 'no such thing 'as a 'special fellowship within a fellowship'.Today you would hardly recognise the EB as a 'church',let alone a faith based church...they appear to have abandoned all the usual tenets of a church ie: conviction of sin, repentance an acceptance of Christ as their personal saviour-the very foundation upon which brethren were found on...all this has been seemingly been replaced by pride and arrogance

There are so many scriptures that the EB ignore....scriptures warning about drunkeness(One of the prerequisites of leadership), scriptures about following Mathew 18 on procedure for assembly discipline, allowing individual conscience on who you eat with, scriptures that prohibit taking another brother to court, the list of scriptures that the EB totally ignore...and yet they have the temerity to claim they follow the bible and are 'guided by Pauls ministry' ?
