What fine words the brethren say about sexual abuse-when they are backed into the corner and it's front page news......'sharing the communities revulsion ,promising to work with the authorites' and striving to report abuse' ..., 'victims in our thoughts and prayers'...(pardon me while I choke) ...kinda rings a bit hollow when you hear of intimidation and attempts to silence victims..the brethren have no protocols for dealing with things like this, have no professional training and no, the public 'care meetings' are NOT the appropriate venue

I'll believe the brethren when they accept responsibility, turn over any allegations to an independant ,trained professional to investigate, offer to pay for professional councelling..until then it's just a pathetic attempt at damage control to try and distance themselves from their disgraceful public image ...sorry about that...got some news for them, the 'me too' movement is bringing down some high profile public figures and it's just a matter of time before some of the EB sisters blow the lid off...allegations of stuff like this has been covered up for decades...booze, a pressure cooker atmosphere and 'closed doors' are the perfect venue....trust me, it ain't gonna be pretty

Posted online in 2016 after agreement with Charity Commission was reached regarding Preston Down Gospel Hall Trust's charitable status.
The sexual abuse of minors is a heinous act and the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church will always strive to bring any allegations of such to the attention of police and other authorities.

The Charity Commission tell us that individual Gospel Hall Trusts are responsible, not the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church. Have the Charity Commission been misled?

'Exclusives' will always withdraw their children from any form of sex education: this is seen as a
family responsibility, so that guidance can be given an appropriate moral and spiritual setting. They
see no need for detailed AIDS education, since their lifestyle puts them in the 'no risk' category.

The EB comment about sex education demonstrates crass stupidity and smug ignorance of both the way things work and humanity itself.

The Brethrens comments about sexual abuse sound more like a pathetic attempt at damage control after they make the front page news than stated protocols ....when they invite independent professionals to come in and encourage people who have been abused to come forward in complete confidentiality I will believe their fine words..until then it's just window dressing

It is 1 year ago today that we saw the terrible terrorist attacks on mankind in Manchester. Our thoughts and sympathies are constantly with those that lost loved ones, were injured and those that helped in the aftermath of the explosions Manchester Arena
https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q= ... 0team%20uk

Many of us lost loved ones the day we decided to no longer frequent the church these same RRT people attend. Thoughts and sympathies offered to us? Or hateful, physical and legal threats, shunning, damage to property and losses of inheritance?

The real Brethren take on this sad event would be 'It's God's judgement on you for attending a worldly pop concert'.

Added to which, the artiste Ariana Grande was raised a Roman Catholic but abandoned Catholicism during the pontificate of Benedict XVI, citing opposition to the church's stance on homosexuality.

Booze or Business? Which LESS represents the Christ of the gospels? EB have made a mockery of the life and teachings of the meek and lowly Jesus all the while claiming to 'be' the Church and excluding everyone else, afterall, we hold the 'truth' and have the 'light' and we are 'special' ..right?

LK has notified us of the Brethren's wish to build a 4 storey, 55 unit 'assisted living facility' in Minneapolis, USA.

http://www.southwestjournal.com/news/de ... developer/
While the Brethren want to be respectful to their neighbors, Oyaas said, they also feel an obligation to sell the property for the most they can.
The concept calls for shared dining and common space on the ground floor and a rooftop deck on the third floor.
A neighbour of this proposed development has commented thus:-
We had a neighborhood informational meeting with members of the Brethren, their PR Firm and the Architect group. I directly asked all of them whether any of them would want this development built in their residential neighborhood. No one answered. I asked the same question again stating that it is a simple yes or no question. Once again no response... That tells us in the neighborhood all we need to know. Not one of the persons on the presenting side of the discussion wants to live next to a monstrosity like this!
Standard Brethren practice these days, apparently....Go to ground when in a corner.

The fact that the Brethren are proposing a facility that even their own adherents would not be able live in, due to 'eating matters' etc is deeply hypocritical, as are their almost constant battles in the UK to build halls in totally inappropriate places. They want to sell for top dollar, move to a countryside location and buy cheap. Why not build first before moving? Everyone else would.

One might be forgiven for concluding the EB's guiding guiding principle was to 'put one over' on any local government in order to make as much money as possible...afterall, they're only 'Eyptians ' anyway and therefor fair game...( see,we're smart and they're stupid so we have a right to do whatever we want)

Tomorrow is one year since 72 perished in the terrible Grenfell tower fire. Our thoughts and sympathies remain with those that lost loved ones, those still homeless and the many hundred members of our dedicated emergency sevices who attended the fire @metpoliceuk @londonfirebrigade

This morning I am remembering one Rex Curtis who committed suicide 17 years ago this month.
Rex Curtis, from Auckland, the media were on high alert to report on the case until we found that he had left behind in Perth, a wife and two daughters who were un-easy about a full blown exposure of the situation at the time. They feared what the E.B.'s may do to them if the truth were told in the public media.

There is, as one would expect, many lies believed among the brethren about the incident.

The note found on the body made it very clear that this action was the poor mans last attempt to get back at the Brethren for all that they had done to him over the years, I have a copy of the note.

The story among the Brethren is "that the man wanted to be near the Brethren, so he choose to die near them", (in the back yard of the main meeting room in Perth, Western Australia).

RIP Rex. We will not forget those who found the hateful actions of the Exclusive Brethren (in breaking up their families, some being made homeless and losing their jobs) all too much to take.
